The original studio version has a lot of guitar tracks in there so it is difficult to pick up what would be best way to play it live! Either way, one of the guitars would seem to def` need G or B tuning.
Works beautifully on a 12 string.
basic chord is the Bmaj (middle two fingers on the 4th fret D&G strings, index on 2nd fret E string). Then use your little finger to get the melody by stretching to the 4th then 5th fret on the E.
The E chord is played in the trad D shape at the 4th fret again using your little finger to hit the 7th fret in time.
