Quo like B tuning, with 4500x the most well known but probably the one most struggle to play like Rick does.
Come RockWith Me/Rockin On another big epic in B.There are many more.

"Bad News".I`m sure one of the guitars is in B tuning. It fits if you try it.You can capo 2nd in standard to get the other guitar part.Anyone know the real set up of this song?

Well got my guitar back from Strung out guitars Glasgow got the action changed and  set up with these strings

011 GBZWLO 11-70: 011, 014, 018, DY36, DY52, DY70"
6th=70 gauge.

The guitar shop owners where very curiuos about this weird BB  tuning, and asked me to show how is is used.

They where stunned with heavy sound of the bass string used by parfit`s chords(mental B shape) and barred B for 4500 time(i still mess it up).

They thanked for demostration of the Brill tuning and remarked on straight boogie bouncing off the BB stings "]Forty-five hundred times I told you how much I care" very "quo they remarked  :P ".

Upshot the they loved this tuning  and who we are to argue  ;-D

Is that the correct tuning for those two songs or were you just seeing how it would sound?

Backwater has all the same chords as 4500 times, and it sounds/feels 100% right playing it in B tuning :)

A cover I did a while back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLxTxlLao9E

Couple of questions:
Rick plays the same guitar for Rain as for 4500 Times (they run together in the set - or did, I haven't seen them for two years) so that must be the same tuning. Is this correct?

Secondly what is the B tuning he uses?

Thanks

Mike

Hi mike sorry rick swaps his gibson melody maker tuned to B for his fender esquire with facelift tuned(rossi fills in rhythem) during these songs.

The b tuning is the 1st to 4th strings are standard
5th string tuned up to B
6th string tuned down to B

I recently was rehersing and speeded up the opening chord to 4500times.

It drops nicely into "Lonely Man", takes a bit of fiddling with your little finger to get the riff but it's fantastic.

Lonely Man.The guys from John Coghlan Band/ Perdatur do it and they do it well.Mick is using open G 4th fret capo for the rhythm part key of B.Has anyone tried it using Ricks BBDGBE tuning? The original studio version has a lot of guitar tracks in there so it is difficult to pick up what would be best way to play it live! Either way, one of the guitars would seem to def` need G or B tuning.

B Tuning for Come Rock With Me.There is no solo as such on this song so who plays in B tuning. Rick of FR? I`d say Rick as he tends to use tunings more! Got a 0.56 for this tuning and it certainly makes things less wobbly!

Works beautifully on a 12 string.

basic chord is the Bmaj (middle two fingers on the 4th fret D&G strings, index on 2nd fret E string). Then use your little finger to get the melody by stretching to the 4th then 5th fret on the E.

The E chord is played in the trad D shape at the 4th fret again using your little finger to hit the 7th fret in time.
